The hooves rest on the tarpaulin out of alignment.
The idea of a deer is in pieces all over the room.

In November 2023 I worked together with Noora Sandgren on an artist residency on the island of Örö. In two weeks, the army trained in the waters to the south of the island and the news reported on NATO troops in nearby Hankoniemi. 15.11.2023, a deer hunt was organised on the island. On the evening of the hunt we witnessed the deer being skinned in the barn in the barracks area. Since then, Noora has kept a bag of deer hooves in her freezer, and Kastehelmi has kept two neatly cut ears.
